Rev. Isurugama Sirisumana Thero
Reverend Isurugama Sirisumana Thero has dedicated his life to Buddhist practice, education, and community service from a young age. He is based at the Saranath Buddhist Centre in Gangodawila, Sri Lanka.
He was ordained as a novice monk on 7 October 2006 and served in this role until June 2014, gaining extensive experience in monastic life and religious service. He later received higher ordination and continued his monastic service from June 2014 to March 2022. Reverend Thero holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka, awarded in 2019.
Throughout his monastic journey, he has been actively involved in conducting meditation retreats, leading workshops in traditional Theravada Buddhism, and providing day-to-day religious services in Buddhist temples. His work also includes promoting social and cultural activities within a strong Buddhist ethical framework.
With his deep commitment to spiritual development, meditation practice, and community engagement, Reverend Isurugama Sirisumana Thero continues to serve as a respected teacher and guide, supporting devotees in their path toward mindfulness, wisdom, and compassionate living.
